Notice of Race
Saturday 7th June
1 Event
Skerries
Sailing Club Junior Regatta for Optimists, Mirrors, Toppers, Laser 4.7, 420’s,
Sundry and Laser Radial will take place at Skerries Sailing Club, Harbour Road,
Skerries, Co Dublin on Saturday 7th June
2014.
2 Rules
2.1. All races shall be
governed by the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the prescriptions of the
Irish Sailing Association (ISA), this Notice of Race, and the Sailing
Instructions.
3 Eligibility
3.1 Competitors shall
be members of clubs affiliated to the ISA
3.2 All boats and
competitors shall comply with the safety rules of Skerries Sailing Club
3.3 The Race Committee
may request a valid measurement certificate for inspection, and may appoint
an official to inspect any competing boat at any time.
3.4 All boats must
launch from the club slipway.
4 Responsibility
& Insurance
4.1 Competitors must
have third party insurance of at least €1.5 M (one million five hundred
thousand euro).
4.2. RRS Fundamental
Rule 4 states: "The responsibility for a boat's decision to participate in
a race or to continue racing is hers alone." This includes a decision
whether or not to launch, and should take into account the equipment and
clothing of both helm and crew.
4.3. The race
organizers shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal
injury, however caused, to the owner or crew as a result of
their taking part in the event.
5 Entries
5.1 Entry Fee €15 for Optimist and
laser and Toppers; €25 for Mirrors. 420’s. Closing date for Early Entries
29th May. Entries will
be accepted by Post to Skerries Sailing Club, Harbour Road, Skerries, Co
Dublin. For Early Entries the fee can be paid in cash on the day. Late
entries will be accepted on the day at the Race Office - €20 for single handed, €30 for double
handed
6 Registration, Briefing, &
Sailing Instructions
6.1 Registration will be held in
Skerries Sailing Club, as follows:
Saturday 7th June 2014: 09.00
– 10.30 hrs
6.2 Briefing will be held on Saturday
7th June 2014 at 10.30 hrs at Skerries Sailing Club. Additional briefings may be held
as required by posting a notice on the official notice board.
6.3 Sailing Instructions will be
available to competitors at registration.
7 Number of Races & Warning
Signal
7.1 Three races are scheduled for
the event. The timing of the Warning Signal for the first race will be at 11.45 hrs.
7.2 The minimum number of races to
constitute an event shall be 2 (two).
8 Scoring
8.1 The Low Point scoring system of
RRS Appendix A4.1 shall apply.
9. Prizegiving
9.1 Prize giving will be held as
soon as possible after racing on Saturday 7th June 2014.
