Notice of Race
The Mirror Southern Championships shall
take place at the Skerries Sailing Club, Skerries, on 24th and 25th
August 2013. Skerries Sailing Club is
the organizing authority.
1. Rules
1.1
The event will be governed by the rules as
defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of the ISA, the rules
of the International Mirror Class Association of Ireland (IMCAI), this Notice
of Race, the Sailing Instructions, and any amendments thereto.
1.2
All Mirrors and competitors shall comply in
full with the insurance and safety requirements of the IMCAI. Each
participating boat shall be insured with valid third party liability insurance
with a minimum cover of €1,500,000 per incident/event or the equivalent.
1.3
Jury boats may be on the water during the
event. Details of this, if applicable, will be listed in Addendum B of the
Sailing Instructions and/or at the event briefing.

Advertising will be
restricted to Category C.
3.
Eligibility
and Entry
3.1
The event is open to Mirrors sailed by
members of the IMCAI or, where non-resident on the Island of Ireland, the
Mirror Class Association of another country. Single event membership of the IMCAI is available.
3.2 Eligible boats may enter by completing the attached entry form and submitting it with the entry fee at the registration office on the morning of the first day of the event.
3.3 Each boat may be
asked to produce a valid measurement certificate at registration.
3.6 Late entries may
be accepted under the following conditions:
- Payment
of the Entry Fee without discount.
- The organizing authority determining, at its absolute discretion, that it has the necessary facilities to cope with such late entry. The organizing authority shall be under no obligation to accept any late entry.
4.
Schedule
4.1 Registration shall take place at the Club House from 9.30hrs to 10.30hrs on Saturday 24th August. Sailing Instructions and details of the social programme will be available to competitors at registration.
4.2 Measurement,
examination of measurement certificates and/or measurement checking may take
place as part of the registration process.
4.3 A briefing will
be held at 10.30 hrs on the first day of scheduled racing in the Club House.
4.4 Seven races are
scheduled for the event. The scheduled time for the warning signal for the
first race is 11.25hrs on Saturday 24th August; this changes IMCAI
Championship Sailing Instruction rule 6.2. The scheduled time for the warning
signal on the second day of the event will be 9.55 hrs. The second and
subsequent race(s) on each day will commence as soon as possible after the
completion of the previous race.
4.5 In the event of
adverse weather conditions, the race committee reserve the right to sail an
extra race on either day of the regatta.

Prize giving will be held at approx 16.00 hrs on 25th August.

8. Disclaimer of Liability
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the event.

9. Rights to Use Names and Likenesses
Competitors automatically grant to the organizing authority without payment the right to make, use and show any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed television of, or relating to the event. They also allow their names, age category, club and boat details to be displayed in competitors lists prior to the event and in results, both on the SSC and IMCAI websites and in other publications.
